Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the SECRA WP4 Webinar Series “AIPO Experiences and Insights on Collaborations with Enterprises”, Session 3: “Role of IP in Sustaining University-Enterprise Collaborations for Disaster Resilience” on Friday May 6, 2022. This webinar, hosted by the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) in the Philippines, begins with teaching some fundamental concepts and principles about Intellectual Property (IP) and followed by a presentation of how we can leverage the IP system to sustain UEC for resilience.

Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa, Assistant Dean, on behalf of Chiang Mai University and one of the university partners of ERASMUS+ SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia, joined the SECRA Webinar Series: "Institutional Landscapes, Social Networks, and Market Analysis of UEC for Climate and Disaster Resilience" hosted by Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines on March 7, 2022. In this webinar, the University of Lancashire, UK, one of the university partners, also shared key insights derived from surveys on UECs for climate action and disaster resilience with administrators, faculty, researchers, and representatives from various enterprises, including government offices, businesses, and NGOs.
On Tuesday 15 March, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp, Associate Dean warmly welcomed two groups of delegates from Naresuan University and Mahasarakham University, Thai universities members under the project “Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia (SECRA)” to attend the opening ceremony of the Colombo Symposium hosted by University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka via online at the Faculty of Agro-Industry of Chiang Mai University. The main purpose of this visit is to attend the local event, join discussion on progress and accountability of their work package in order to present to the Colombo Symposium through online channel from 15-18 March, 2022
On March 18, Mid Sweden University hosted the Steering Committee Meeting (SECRA: The Colombo Symposium) with an objective to update progress of each work package that have been carried out by university partners under the project. In this meeting, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa updated progress of activities under the work package 2: Institutional Landscape Optimization to the Steering Committee and collected information from other work packages performed by other university partners.
On Friday 1 April, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa, had a discussion on SECRA activity: WP2 - 2.1a and 2.1b : Developing, testing and re-evaluating the UEC relational framework with University of Huddersfield, UK. This activity, under responsibility of University of Huddersfield and Chiang Mai University, is a part of ERASMUS+ project (SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia).

On April 22, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp, Associate Dean and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa, Assistant Dean, on behalf of Chiang Mai University and one of the university partners of ERASMUS+ SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia, attended the SECRA WP4 Webinar Series “AIPO Experiences and Insights on Collaborations with Enterprises”, Session 1: “Experiences in Business Incubation”, organized by the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) in the Philippines. In this webinar, AIPO described its Technology Business Incubation (TBI) program, including its support services, a profile of its incubated startups, challenges and successes of selected startups, as well as TBI challenges in self-sustaining in the near future.
On April 25, 2022, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended “The SECRA: Naresuan University Webinar” hosted by Naresuan University, one of the Thai universities network in the SECRA Project. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, Acting President of Naresuan University presented “Document Studies of UEC” and Dr. Sarita Jane Robinson from University of Central Lancashire presented outcomes of the Work Package 1: Institution analysis, Social Network analysis and Market analysis. A highlight of the entire event was the Panel Discussion on “Pathway and Challenge of UEC for Disaster Resilience”. The panelists included Dr. Bhichit Rattakul, President of Thai Network for Disaster Resilience (TNDR) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanyanuparb Anantana, Director of Science and Technology Park (STeP) CMU, for example.

Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the SECRA WP4 Webinar Series “AIPO Experiences and Insights on Collaborations with Enterprises”, Session 2: “Experiences in Enterprise Engagement” hosted by the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) in the Philippines. In this webinar, AIPO shares its experiences in engaging with the business sector. The discussion focuses on three general types of engagement: (1) Technology Pitching, (2) Reverse Pitching and (3) Co-development of Research Projects.

Dr. Anbarasu Kumar and Dr. Gopinath Kasi will assist and support their advisors in teaching, research works and supervising graduate students at the Faculty of Agro-Industry from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suthat Surawang and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa hosted a virtual short meeting with executive staff and lecturers of Nong Lam University: 1) Dr. Hong Nguyen 2) Dr. Tuyen Kha and 3) Dr. Huynh Tien Dat on Tuesday 7 June to discuss details of field visit to provide knowledge and some guidance in terms of food safety and food security during the Covid-19 pandemic to food factories in Vietnam. This important task is executed under the project “Risk Control in Food Safety and Security Using Appropriate Innovative Technology for New Normal” (Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2021). Groups of experts (faculty’s lecturers) planned to visit food factories in Vietnam from June to October 2022.
On June 10, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the Second Webinar Series for SECRA WP4 “Innovation and Enterprise Webinars” which is a part of the project ERASMUS+ SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia.
This second set of webinar series for WP4 will be organized four times in June and July by subdividing into four minor topics. This is the first topic “Promoting Equity and Diversity in UECs”, hosted by University of Central Lancashire, UK.
On Thursday 11 August, the faculty executive staff welcomed Prof. Dr. Masanori WATANABE from the Faculty of Agriculture, Yamagata University in Japan who paid a visit to the faculty during 9-12 August 2022 to discuss research works with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanongsak Chaiyaso and to bring the fourth year undergraduate student to exchange experience and carry out a research project at the faculty’s laboratory from August 9, 2022 – February 7, 2023.
After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Masanori WATANABE also gave a special talk on “Challenges of production of nutritionally functional food materials from defatted rice bran” at Meeting Room 3 of the faculty. Participants included faculty lecturers, students, visiting student from University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven in Germany and Post-doctoral fellowship from India.
On Friday 17 June, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the webinar “Developing the Business Mindset in Academic Staff and Students” hosted by University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom. This seminar looked at how we can create a culture of enterprise, and develop enterprising individuals within the Higher Education sectors covering case studies from academics and students who are involved in University Enterprise Collaborations.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended this webinar which is the third part of the Second Webinar Series for SECRA WP4 “Innovation and Enterprise Webinars”. This session targeted both staff and students and shared knowledge of how to think like an entrepreneur and how to generate business ideas.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana attended the webinar “University-Enterprise Networking”, the 4th and the last part of the Second Webinar Series for SECRA WP4 “Innovation and Enterprise Webinars” hosted by University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom, a member of the ERASMUS+ SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia on Friday 8 July. In order to form UECs, it is important that universities and enterprise organizations have the opportunity to meet and discuss, shared ideas and goals. This webinar, therefore, covered how to set up and run a University-Enterprise Networking day and using knowledge vine to match university experts with enterprise partners. Moreover, a few universities including a Thai partner, Naresuan University by Associate Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, the President, shared case studies on University-Enterprise Networking topic “In the mood for University-Enterprise Networking”.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended a short meeting with a member from University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom on Tuesday 20 September to update results to the questionnaire “Testing the UEC relational framework”. The purpose of this questionnaire is to validate the proposed UEC (University-Enterprise Collaboration) relational framework and to test UEC stakeholders: university, industry, government, community, and technical agencies, which incorporating 4 dimensions of UEC challenges and solutions: cultural, material, relational and structural. This activity is a part of WP2: Institutional Landscape Optimization under the project ERASMUS+ SECRA: Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia.
On Thursday 22 September, Mid Sweden University hosted the SECRA: The 3rd Steering Committee Meeting where Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the meeting with university partners. This meeting purpose was to report progress of each work package e.g. WP2: Institutional Landscape Optimization, WP3: UEC Community of Practice, WP4: Innovation and Enterprise, WP5: University Enterprise Collaboration Compass etc. The next physical project meeting which will be organized in Thailand was also discussed.
On Wednesday 2 November 2022, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dean, including executive, academic staff and students of the Faculty of Agro-Industry welcomed a group of Vietnamese students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology, Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City. A group, comprising 7 students, attends the Student Mobility Program: Work-Learn Internship at the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University from 1 November 2022 to 28 February 2023.
A group has met with their head of research clusters, advisors and assisting students. It is expected that our exchange students enjoy this wonderful opportunity to take part in cultural exchanges, experimental activities as well as practical training at our research clusters and gain some technological knowledge in order to develop their research experiences.

This event is part of the nationwide Philippine Startup Week 2022, a national celebration to showcase Filipino startups, connect them to other founders and investors, as well as inspire future technology entrepreneurs.
Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry and another two executive staff attended the ERASMUS + :Sustainable Development Goals and green consumers motivating climate change adaptation behaviour” (SEARCH) 1st Meeting on November 16 to discuss details and activities of collaboration among universities in Sri Lanka, Lithuania, the Philippines and Thailand. This project aims to upgrade curricula of BSc, MSc and PhD programmes at Sri Lankan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Philippines universities by adding new multidisciplinary adaptive MOOCs and/or Mass Customised Affective Computing Game Subsystem (COMPASS).
On December 3-9, 2022, a group of executive staff, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana (Dean), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp (Associate Dean), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa (Assistant Dean) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Akkasit Jongjareonrak, Head of Food Process Engineering Division, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suphat Phongthai, Head of Food Science and Technology Division are scheduled to be traveling to Korea under the “One Faculty One MoU” project to strengthen cooperation on translational research and paid a courtesy call on Korean executive staff. Each of the delegate offered a short presentation with professor of KU in the Mini Symposium (KU-CMU) and joined the MoU signing ceremony between the Faculty of Agro-Industry – College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. In addition, a group of CMU delegates enjoyed an opportunity to visit a few laboratories at the College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology.

Prof. Dr. Suphat Phongthai visited the College of Energy and Biotechnology of Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) to meet Executive staff of the Office of International Affairs of SeoulTech and professors from the Department of Food Science and Technology. A group of CMU delegates joined the MoU signing ceremony between the Faculty of Agro-Industry of CMU and the College of Energy and Biotechnology of SeoulTech and a discussion of cooperative academic activities. This official academic visit to Republic of Korea is executed under the One Faculty One MoU project which received financial support from Chiang Mai University and the Faculty of Agro-Industry.

Prof. Dr. Suthat Surawang, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry and a lecturer of the Product Development Technology Division was invited by Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to serve as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology from 4 to 17 December 2022.

On Friday 23 December 2022, 7 Vietnamese exchange students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology, Nong Lam University made notable progress on their research projects conducted under the supervision of their research advisors. In the afternoon, they enjoyed cooking activity with our faculty lecturers, officers and students at the laboratory of Product Development Technology Division.
On Wednesday 11th January 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dean and executive staff of the Faculty of Agro-Industry welcomed a group of Japanese students from Yamagata University. This group comprises Professor Dr. Masanori Watanabe and 7 students from the Faculty of Agriculture whose main purpose of this visit was to take part in the “Student Mobility: YU Short Stay Program in CMU 2023. The program will take place from 10 to 17 January.
After the opening ceremony, a group of visitors was also given a short tour to the faculty pilot plant.
Later in the afternoon, Japanese and Thai students enjoyed cooking activity to exchange food culture. Japanese students showed how to make “Okonomiyaki” while Thai students made fried purple sweet potato ball.
Associate Professor Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry presided over the closing ceremony of the Student Mobility: Yamagata University Short Stay Program in CMU 2023 on Monday 16 January at the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University and presented certificates to students from Yamagata University and assisting Thai students of the Faculty of Agro-Industry.
Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana and the faculty executive staff welcomed a group of guests from Asia Pacific Network for Sustainable Agricultural Food and Energy (SAFE NETWORK) on Wednesday 18th January 2023. This group of visitors comprises professors from various universities in Indonesia who came to discuss an opportunity to collaborate with Chiang Mai University. Examples of collaboration include Invitation CMU to co-host SAFE 2023 International Conference which will be organized in Chiang Mai on May 28-29, International Joint Community Services Program (knowledge transfer to community) or other activity upon mutual interest of both parties.
On January 20, 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana attended the ERASMUS + Project: Sustainable Development Goals and green consumers motivating climate change adaptation behaviour” (SEARCH) 5th meeting to discuss details, activities of collaboration and develop the project proposal among universities in Sri Lanka, Lithuania, the Philippines and Thailand. Dividing undertaker of each work package was also discussed.

A group, led by Professor Dr. Bong June Yoon, Vice President for Research Affairs and Professor Dr. Hyun Jin Park, Director of Functional Food Research Center, consists of 9 executive and academic members from College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Graduate School of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences and Institute of Life Sciences and Natural Resources. The purposes of this visit were: to provide an opportunity for students who have interest in furthering their study at Korea University and to attend the Mini Symposium: Food Biotechnology Innovations and Challenges during February 20-21, 2023.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dean, executive and academic staff of the Faculty of Agro-Industry and a group of executive and academic staff from College of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Graduate School of Life Sciences and Environmental Sciences and Institute of Life Sciences and Natural Resources of Korea University joined the “Mini symposium: Food Biotechnology Innovations and Challenges” on Tuesday 21 February, 2023 at the Faculty of Agro-Industry where Dr. Ponjan Walter was a moderator. Faculty lecturers, undergraduate and graduate students from Food Sciences and Technology, Agro-Industrial Technology and Food Process Engineering Programs seemed to pay lots of attention to this mini joint symposium.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Sujinda Sriwattana, Dean and executive staff of the Faculty of Agro-Industry together with executive and academic staff from Korea University paid a visit to Chiang Mai University on February 21, 2023. The group was welcomed by Assistant Prof. Dr. Worakanya Buranaphatthana and Assistant Prof. Dr. Choncharoen Sawangrat, Assistant to the President and had a great meeting and discussion on collaboration plans with Chiang Mai University.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Srisuwan Naruenartwongsakul, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agro-Industry presided over the closing ceremony of NLU Student Mobility: Work-Learn Internship at the Faculty of Agro-Industry, CMU 2022 on February 27, 2023. At the end of the ceremony, Associate Prof. Dr. Noppol Leksawasdi, Director of the Office of Research Administration and Head of Bioprocess Research Cluster awarded certificates to students from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology, Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City including Thai students and research assistants who took part in this internship program which was organized from November 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023.
A group of Vietnamese students presented their research projects they carried out at the faculty‘s research clusters. All the audiences were their advisors, Thai assisting students and research assistants. The farewell party followed the official closing ceremony hosted by School of Agro-Industry at The View Village Restaurant.
Associate Professor Dr. Pichaya Poonlarp and Assistant Professor Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa attended the SECRA WP4 Innovation and Enterprise Seminar “Developing a Business Model Canvas” on March 10, 2023, hosted by University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom.
The seminar focused on business model canvas, a tool to help understanding a business model in a straightforward and structured way. The model outlines 9 segments: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partners and Cost Structure. The seminar also covered review case study examples for UK Agricultural businesses, applying the business canvas for business and allocating priorities and actions for operating a business successfully.
On March 17, 2023, a group of visitors from 4 universities was brought to the Faculty of Agro-Industry by 2 representatives from CMU International Relations Office to meet Assistant Professor Dr. Srisuwan Naruenartwongsakul and Assistant Professor Dr. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa. A group of visitors comprises 7 delegates from 1) Western Kentucky University, USA 2) Stuttgart Media University, Germany 3) University of Calgary, Canada and 4) Soongsil University, Republic of Korea.

On June 12th, 2023, Asst. Prof. Sujinda Sriwattana Ph.D., Faculty of Agro-Industry Dean, presided at welcoming ceremony for students from Faculty of Bioresources and Food Industry, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu under The Internship program 2023, semester 1, academic year 2023 along with Assoc. Prof. Pichaya Poonlarp Ph.D., Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Sorraya Khiewnavawongsa, Ph.D., Associate Dean and Faculty of Agro-Industry lecturers. In this ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Niranol Utama-Ang, School of Agro industry head, has given Faculty presentation. Moreover, Students has been given internship information from Asst. Prof. Suphat Phongthai Ph.D., Head of Food-Science Technology and Tubkrit Khumsap Ph.D., responsible internship program.

Ernst Mach Grant: This grant is for international students or researchers to travel for study and research at Austrian universities. The duration is 1-9 months.
Ernst Mach Scholarship: This scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate students from non-European countries to study applied sciences at Austrian universities. The duration is 4-10 months.
Ernst Mach Scholarship ASEA-UNINET: This scholarship is for students from ASEAN member countries (except Singapore and Brunei) who have completed a master's degree in natural sciences, technology, medicine, health sciences, agriculture, social sciences, or arts, or undergraduate students in music. The duration is 9-36 months.
